The Drumm Farm Organic Garden and Farm Stand

From the first day the Andrew Drumm Institute opened it doors in 1929 through the next 50 years, the boys who lived on campus participated in a vo-agricultural program. Today, many of the children work in the Drumm Farm Organic Garden and help with a seasonal produce stand. They are learning some new and useful skills much the same way children hav done at Drumm for the past 60 years.

The garden covers three acres and grows and extensive variety of certified organic vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers.

Our mission is to introduce gardening and nutritious food to the children at Drumm with a self-sustaining program. To support the garden we also market our produce at two local markets in Kansas City; the 39th Street Market and The Farmers Community Market at Brookside.

Contact Bruce Branstetter at 816-286-6325 if you are interested in visiting the garden.

Our farm stand at Drumm begins in mid- May and runs through the summer. Look for the sign at the entrance of the campus. We will be open from 8:00am to 12:00pm on Saturdays.

We look forward to seeing you!
